Liturgical Ministries

Lectors

Lectors are members of the parish who proclaim the Word of God in our parish liturgies. Training sessions, workshops, and renewal opportunities are provided for this ministry. Interested adults and high school parishioners wishing to develop the skills needed for this ministry are welcome at any time.

Eucharistic Ministers

These ministers are trained and commissioned members of the parish who distribute the Eucharist at our parish liturgies. Training sessions, workshops and renewal opportunities are provided for this ministry.

Music Ministers

These ministers assist the assembly in sung prayer at our parish liturgies as cantors, accompanists, members of ensemble groups, and instrumentalists. New youth and adult musicians are welcome at any time.

Altar Servers

This ministry is available to youth of our parish in fifth through eighth grade. Training sessions are held to prepare persons for this ministry.

Hospitality Ministers

These ministers welcome all who come to worship, assisting in seating, receiving the offerings of monetary support, and being available to help with any emergency which may arise during the liturgy. Both men and women are invited to participate in this ministry.

Pastoral Care Ministry

This ministry includes visitation of and bringing communion to parishioners who are homebound and in care facilities.

Funeral Ministers

St. Augustin Parish offers assistance to families when a loved one dies. Family members meet with the presiding priest to make arrangements for the vigil service, funeral liturgy, and burial. Contact the pastor for an appointment.

Funeral dinners are available at the parish. As established committee will serve the dinner and provide table settings, salad and desserts.

Child Care Ministry

Child care for infants and toddlers is available during the Saturday 5 p.m. and Sunday 10 a.m. Masses in the Lower Level of the Parish Hall. Suggested donation is $3.00 per child.
