Ministries and Committees

Altar & Rosary Society offers prayers and service projects benefiting the parish. The main thrust is devotion to the Blessed Mother by daily praying the assigned decade of the Rosary. We invite you to join us.  Contact president Jackie Hruska via email at  staugustinaltarandrosary@gmail.com. The group meets on the first Thursday of the month at 6:00 pm in the parish hall.

Board of Education is an elected group that oversees catechesis for adults, St. Augustin School and the Religious Education Program. They meet the first Tuesday of every month. 2021-2022 members are: Tim Coonan, Pres., Bridget Proctor, Vice Pres., Mike Milligan, Treas., Jenny Lorbiecki, Sec., Sue Honkamp, Cynthia Steidl-Bishop, Ted Power, Justin Raatz, Kristel Spike-Principal and Rev. Christopher Pisut.

Catholic Scripture Study is a weekly Bible study program.  Contact Cindy Kodis at 515-251-3930.

Elizabeth Ministries is based on the visitation story of Mary and Elizabeth in scripture and offers hope and healing for women and their families on issues related to childbearing, sexuality and relationships.  This is an opportunity for women to minister to other women by offering support, companionship and prayers for individuals during their time of joy, trials and sorrows. This volunteer role is currently open.

Finance Council is an advisory committee that assists the pastor in the administration of parish financial matters. Chair: Dr. Nicholas Honkamp.

Food Pantry coordinates the parish's food donations for the needy.  The third weekend of each month is designated as Food Pantry weekend.  Donations of non-perishable food items and monetary donations are accepted before and after Mass. Contact Patrick Johnson at 515-339-5207.

Home & School Assocation is a booster association that supports St. Augustin School. Contact Becky Eaton, Co-President & Stephanie Haas, Co-President.

Knights of Columbus is a Catholic men's fraternal organization that is dedicated to serving the Church and the parish. The council meets the third Tuesday of the month. More information is available on the council website-- www.kofc10558.org or contact Grand Knight Tom Donnelly, 515-988-0491.

Parish Council is a nine-member elected group that serves as an advisory board to the pastor. They meet the second Tuesday of the month in the church conference room at 6:00 p.m.  Contact Matt Eide, President.

Perpetual Eucharistic Adoration involves volunteers who pray in the chapel 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Contact Mike Woody at criticmcw@gmail.com.

Prayer Chain relays prayer requests to parishioners who have offered to pray for others. Contact staugprayer@staugustin.org.

Prayer Shawl Ministry provides comfort and peace to parishioners through the shawls it constructs in prayer. Contact Marty Chiovaro at 515-274-2482 or Pat Knight at 515-279-9475.

Saint Vincent De Paul Society is our parish chapter of a national group dedicated to assisting those in need, and seeking charity and justice. Contact Cindy Sullivan at 515-255-1175, ext. 201.

St. Joseph Family Shelter Meals enlists parish families to prepare meals for residents at the shelter. Contact Mike Woody at criticmcw@gmail.com.
